I found this cool tutorial on Dollar Store Crafts and thought it would make a fun gift for a friend. She likes insects, so I printed out a few beautiful examples and used waterproof Mod Podge (instead of paraffin) to put them on the small soaps. Eventually the picture will wear off, but it’s a neat idea!
My friend’s baby shower for Baby Girl is this weekend, yay! I am making cupcakes, and went ahead and made a cupcake stand to hold them. It all started with this –

So cute! I mist admit, I lost a few layers of fingerprints hot-gluing those roses. But it was worth it all around. I was inspired by a tiered tray tutorial on Joy’s Hope (which I first saw on Dollar Store Crafts). They didn’t have those candlesticks at my dollar store, but my can ‘o beans worked fine.
I made vanilla cupcakes and frosting based on Sweetapolita’s recipe. It was pretty good – the cupcakes were not to sweet and the frosting was very buttery. They seemed a big hit!
